Michelle Jamshidi, PE

As PEG’s Department of Design Manager, Michelle Jamshidi leads with a passion for innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainable engineering. A graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Sustainable Design, Michelle’s dedication to energy-efficient construction began during her time at WVU, where she contributed to the Solar Decathlon team in designing and building a high-performance net-zero home.

With seven years of experience in energy efficiency and engineering, Michelle has cultivated a deep expertise in sustainable design and energy-efficient construction. She holds the LEED Green Associate credential and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Virginia. Additionally, she is an alumna of the Leadership Fairfax (ELI) program, further demonstrating her commitment to leadership and professional growth.

In 2024, Michelle’s contributions to the industry earned her recognition as one of the “20 Women to Watch in HVAC.” Her thought leadership extends to published works such as “You Cannot Conserve Your Way to Prosperity” (Charleston Gazette Mail) and “The Future Role of Natural Gas in the Global Energy Economy” (International Conference REMOO-2017).

Her commitment to advancing energy efficiency and sustainability drives PEG’s innovative design solutions, positioning the company as a leader in high-performance building design.

Brandi Roberts

In her role as Scheduling Manager, Brandi Roberts leads with a focus on efficiency, collaboration, and strategic planning. With a background spanning architecture, general contracting, homebuilding, and mechanical design-build, she brings a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry to every project she supports.

Her leadership style is rooted in team development and positive culture-building. Brandi is passionate about motivating her team, fostering professional skill growth, and aligning daily operations with broader organizational goals. She believes that celebrating achievements and recognizing individual contributions are key to building a solution-oriented and high-performing department.

Outside of work, Brandi enjoys spending time with her teenage son and two dogs. A fan of live music and the outdoors, you can find her exploring new trails or relaxing at the beach. She also embraces sustainability in her everyday life through repurposing and thrifting.

Brandi finds purpose in helping PEG deliver energy-efficient solutions that support both homeowners and the environment, and takes pride in being part of a mission-driven team.

Athena Itzel Landero

Athena Itzel Landeros is the Office Manager at PEG, where she plays a key role in supporting internal operations and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. Since joining the team 1.5 years ago, she has been instrumental in streamlining processes and ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the administrative department.

With prior experience in administrative and leadership roles across related industries, Athena brings a well-rounded perspective, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative leadership style to her position. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Law and Society from George Mason University, with minors in Forensic Science and Public Policy & Management. She is also a certified HERS Affiliate and is actively pursuing further professional development.

Recognized with PEG’s Rising Star Award, Athena is known for her adaptability, initiative, and commitment to excellence. She is passionate about building efficient, supportive environments where both people and operations can thrive.

Outside of work, Athena enjoys arts and crafts, spending time with family and friends, and finding joy in creative expression and meaningful connection.

Christopher Quin

As BEM Operations Manager, Christopher Quin plays a pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices within the construction industry. Specializing in value engineering, building energy modeling, carbon modeling and code compliance consulting, Christopher is dedicated to creating innovative solutions that drive energy efficiency and sustainability in modern infrastructure.

Christopher earned his Bachelor of Science in Geographic Science with a concentration in Environmental Conservation, Sustainability and Development from James Madison University. His expertise is further supported by professional certifications, including HERS Rater, HERS Modeler and NGBS Green Verifier. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Christopher was honored as PEG Employee of the Year in 2022.

What Christopher finds most rewarding about his work at PEG is the opportunity to influence the construction industry toward a more sustainable future. He takes pride in quantifying the impact of his efforts, using creativity in value engineering, and helping builders meet above-code program requirements. His passion lies in building greener infrastructure and collaborating with a team that shares this vision.

Outside of the office, Christopher is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, camping, and backpacking. He also loves exploring breweries and spending quality time with friends and family.

John Mataya

As Assistant Manager of PEG’s BEM Department, John Mataya oversees the entire BEM Department, guiding operations and ensuring the success of PEG’s energy efficiency initiatives. With certifications as a HERS Rater and Modeler, John brings extensive expertise in energy modeling and rating, ensuring the success of PEG’s energy efficiency initiatives.

A graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, John’s background in process creation, organization, and in-depth analysis has been invaluable in his role. His prior experience at a title search company sharpened his ability to implement efficient workflows and maintain meticulous attention to detail—skills he now applies to drive innovation and efficiency in energy modeling.

John is deeply committed to advancing sustainable housing solutions and leveraging energy modeling to create impactful, forward-thinking results for PEG’s clients.

Justin Krupa

As Empirical Solutions Manager, Justin Krupa leads the development and implementation of innovative energy modeling and verification strategies that support high-performance building practices. With a background in computational physics and a deep commitment to eco-innovation, he bridges scientific analysis with hands-on certification experience to improve residential energy efficiency and sustainability.

Justin plays a key role in optimizing internal processes, influencing industry standards, and driving forward-thinking solutions across PEG’s energy programs. His work helps ensure that homes meet or exceed rigorous performance benchmarks while supporting long-term environmental goals.

He holds several industry-recognized certifications, including RESNET Quality Assurance Designee, HERS Rater/Modeler, NGBS Green Verifier, and Florida Green Building Coalition Certifying Agent. He has also completed the Earth Academy ESG Reporting Masterclass, reinforcing his expertise in environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

Known for his data-driven approach and passion for sustainability, Justin continues to push the industry forward through technical innovation and leadership.

Edward Rodriguez Gomez

In his role as Human Resources Manager, Edward Rodriguez Gomez leads our HR department with a commitment to fostering collaboration, growth and innovation. Edward brings a dynamic perspective shaped by his extensive experience in the non-profit sector and with an international organization. His diverse background has honed his skills in adaptability, cross-cultural communication and strategic problem-solving, enabling him to manage complex projects and unite teams across varying backgrounds.

Edward holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Towson University, with a concentration in Human Resources Management. His passion lies in empowering individuals and teams to reach their full potential, cultivating an environment where employees feel supported, valued and motivated to succeed. Shaun Roop

As PEG’s HVAC Program Manager, Shaun Roop brings over 30 years of unparalleled expertise in HVAC system design, installation, and repair. His extensive career has included roles as a business owner, field operations manager, estimator, designer, home energy auditor, and service technician, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the industry and its challenges.

Shaun holds a Master Mechanical License in Virginia and boasts certifications from top organizations such as the Building Performance Institute (BPI), Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), and North American Technician Excellence (NATE). He is also an Accredited Installer with the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and has earned numerous additional certifications in HVAC design, indoor air quality, and geothermal systems.

A recognized leader in his field, Shaun is an active member of the ANSI/RESNET/ACCA Standard 310-2025 task group, where he contributes to advancing HVAC industry standards. His commitment to education and innovation is evident in the cutting-edge training facility he recently built to mentor aspiring HERS raters. Shaun combines his technical expertise with strategic problem-solving to deliver cost-effective, efficient, and sustainable HVAC solutions.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Shaun enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter, exploring the outdoors, and perfecting his golf game. Passionate about passing on his knowledge, he finds fulfillment in mentoring the next generation of industry professionals and driving technological advancements in the HVAC field.

Jose Mejia

As Construction Risk Manager, Jose Mejia leads efforts to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks across a wide range of construction projects. With an extensive background in construction and remodeling, he brings practical experience and strategic insight to every aspect of risk management.

Throughout his career, Jose has held several leadership roles, honing his expertise in project oversight, team coordination, and operational planning within fast-paced, high-stakes environments. His well-rounded approach allows him to anticipate challenges, implement effective protocols, and ensure project integrity from start to finish.
